Disparity Among Black Women

The disparity in our community is very alarming to me. As I continue to speak to other Black and Brown women who has been diagnosed with cancer. I kept hearing the same common experiences of unequal medical treatment.

*Black women are are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 50.

*Black women have the highest breast cancer death rates of all ethic groups.

*Black women have a 43 percent higher rate of breast cancer death than White women

*Black women are less likely to survive for 5 years after diagnosis

*Black women are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 50
